I am a lifetime studio potter. Designing, building, and firing unique clay pieces continue to stimulate me. The alchemy of clay and glass in high temperature kilns is intoxicating. Color, texture, sculputral form and narrative story telling allow for great variety in pursuing my ideas in clay.
I am originally from the coast of California with a BA and MA in Ceramics and Art History. Since 1990, I have resided in Rhode Island and now have studio/galleries “All Fired Up Pottery” in Newport with my partner Irene Parthenis.
Art making at its center is autobiographical and for we who love clay and the creative process, it is stimulating, tactile, and delightful.
